I recently went on a spending ban (which I've actually broken twice, lets be honest here, but it wont happen again) and I seem to have quit spending and taken up exercise! Exercise has never been my thing, but I was speaking to my friend who ran Great South Run last year and decided to just sign up for it. So now I have to train to be able to run 10 miles by October! Foolish!
So despite the spending ban, I went to H&M and bought myself some exercise clothes, I would really recommend them, and decided to get off the sofa and just go run. I am using the Get Running app on my iPod Touch and have since been for two runs, they were tough but the second one was much easier. One thing I would say is that if you are at all self conscious about your bum then do not buy running tights, I did and constantly feel paranoid when I am outside in them.
I have always wanted to be a runner, weird I know, so now I just have to keep forcing myself out the house every other day until it gets easier and I feel less like dying. The initial run was the hardest but now that I know I have survived without anyone laughing or pointing at me I know I can carry on.

ReplyDeleteYou really do need to just get up one day and go running! It's been 4 weeks now and I'm really enjoying it! Good luck xx
DeleteI just found your blog - well done for getting out there :) The cold weather puts me off! I'm running 10k in 2 weeks and I haven't done nearly enough training eek!
