{Nails} Topshop - Adrenalin

It seems that sparkly polishes or spring polishes are receiving the most love on my blog lately, and luckily this covers both! It is amazing, I am in love! I'm sure you have all heard of this polish, it's pink and sparkly! Me and Laura decided we had to own it and set out our plan to get it, in the end it involved Laura getting 2 while she was in London, and a trip to the sorting office for me to pick it up.

I didn't want to use it all up getting it opaque so I layered 2 coats over 2 coats of Look Beauty Petticoat. Prepare for photo overload!

Amazing! I have received so many compliments on this, and I love that I'm able to tell people where to get it and that it's affordable! You better get to a Topshop soon as I plan to buy practically all the bottles I see!

{Nails} OPI - My Address Is Hollywood

When the Touring America collection was released I really liked the look of My Address Is Hollywood, but when I saw it in real life I wasn't convinced so I only picked up the mini set from the collection. It's taken me a long time to try this polish but when I did I really liked it!

Application was good, some people complain about the mini OPI brushes but I find them ok. In the bottle this polish has shimmer, but it doesn't really translate onto the nail. This polish reminded me of Nubar Red Sea Coral so I compared them side by side.

On my index and middle finger is OPI My Address Is Hollywood, and on my ring and little finger is Nubar Red Sea Coral. They are pretty similar to me, not dupes though, and after seeing this I decided I preferred the Nubar polish, which is good as I have a full size of that. I like My Address Is Hollywood, but I don't think I will buy a full size if I ever use up my mini version.

{Nails} OPI - French Quarter For Your Thoughts

This polish was opaque in one coat, but I always like to do at least 2. It’s a mid-toned grey that almost has a tinge of green to it, it’s a bit more unusual than your average grey. If I get through this mini polish then I will definitely be buying a full size.

{Nails} Barry M Magnetic Dark Silver

This week Barry M released 4 magnetic polishes, and 5 new polishes, I hadn't intended to pick any up but when I saw that they had different magnet patterns I couldn't resist. I picked the 'dark silver' (to me it looks black) one for the wavy pattern.

The application was good, but instructions on the bottle say to hold the magnet over the nail for 5 seconds, I did 20 seconds. I actually really liked this, I have only worn magnetic nail polish once or twice, but with this pattern I can see myself using them more often. I just wish they were in brighter colours!

{Nails} Mermaid Tears and Fairy Dust

I have posted OPI Mermaid Tears before, but how pretty does it look with China Glaze Fairy Dust over it. Both amazing polishes, it looks magical!

{Nails} Revlon - Lilac Pastelle

This polish is pretty, but that's as far as the good points go!

My camera has done a very good job of this looking like it has applied well, in real life this looked terrible! It was thin and watery, and even after 3 coats it still wasn’t even and had brush marks on it, I don’t expect this from a cream polish. It was also quite expensive, are all Revlon polishes like this? Because if they are then I think I’m done with them!

{Nails} Nails Inc - Brook Street

I think it’s clear that I like these colours, I seem to have built quite a collection of them! I wanted this polish after Lydia mentioned it last year on Twitter, and it turns out I already had it as I got it in a free Nails Inc gift set at one point.

This polish applied smoothly in two coats and was very shiny even without top coat.

This is one of those polishes that annoys me, my camera could not capture the colour accurately so I had to use my phone instead and it did a pretty good job! Why do I have an expensive camera if it cant capture colours properly?!

{Nails} Nails Inc - Wellington Square

I bought this when I saw Nails Inc polishes in Boots for the first time, I was overwhelmed and excited by seeing all the colours in front of me in real life. I picked up this and Portchester Square.

This polish makes me realize how badly Essie Mint Candy Apple does apply, after one coat this was nearly opaque but it needed two to even it out. I’m not sure about this polish, I love the colour, but I’m just not sure how it looks against my skin tone, I feel I look a little dead with this on, we'll see, perhaps it's not as bad as I think.

{Nails} Topshop - AWOL

I picked this up last week when I went in to my Topshop to check whether they had Razzmatazz, they didn't but I came away with this and their new lip tint instead!

But can you blame me?? This is an amazing colour, I had to use my phone but I think this is pretty accurate colourwise. This reminds me slightly of Nails Inc Baker Street, but as I don't have it then I cant compare them. Application was lovely as always. Perfect for the summer I think!

{Nails} China Glaze Hunger Games

I have been waiting for these polishes to arrive for a long time! I ordered them in March and they finally arrived Tuesday, seeing as I was off to see The Hunger Games again yesterday I had to try them straight away. I ordered Agro, Fast Track and Smoke And Ashes.

Agro:

I had to order this, I love olive green shimmers! Application was brilliant on this, I expected some brush marks but no, and look at the gold shimmer where the sun hit the bottle, amazing!

Fast Track:

This was the polish I was determined to buy, it is meant to be very similar to Essence Irreplaceable but as I don't have it I can't tell you how similar they are. It is a beautiful polish, but surprisingly not my favourite

Smoke and Ashes:

I nearly didn't buy this polish, but it has turned out to be my favourite, it's a blackened base with blue and green glass flecks in it. It's beautiful! This is the polish I had to apply straight away, I've worn it for 2 days now and have 2 chips on my right hand, one I managed to do in my sleep! But the rest of my nails look perfect.

I'm tempted to buy more of the collection now, particularly Riveting and Electrify. What are your thoughts on the China Glaze Hunger Games collection?

{Nails} Gelish - Make A Difference

I have been busy at work for this last term so was applying Gelish to my nails a lot, I miss painting my nails when I wear it but knowing that I will have chip free nail polish for at least a week is good when I know I'll be too tired to reapply polish.

This is one of Gelish's 3 polishes which they released as part of their breast cancer collection. I love this colour, I wish I had a normal polish like this! To liven it up a bit I put a sparkle gel polish over the top.

Definitely one of my favourite Gelish manicures, and one I think I'll be wearing a lot this spring!

{Nails} Essie - Case Study

I said in my last post that I liked Essie polishes, their range of neutrals is brilliant! And luckily the neutrals apply a lot better than the pastel Essies.

This is from Essie's Brand New Bag collection and it's a more unusual neutral than most, I dont actually have a shade like this and think it is slightly unique (well as unique as neutrals get!) This was 2 coats and it applied easily. I love this colour, think I will get quite a lot of wear out of it this spring/summer as there's only so much time I can be wearing pastels and brights!

{Nails} Essie - Mint Candy Apple

I've had this polish a long time but never felt any desire to wear it! Me and greens get along, but for some reason me and mint greens don't! There has been a lot of love for this in the blogging community lately so I decided to get it out. It isn't as bad as I expected!

I like Essie polishes, but they are known to be a bit awkward with application. If you are careful then this isn't too bad, the first time I applied this I needed 3 coats to smooth out some bald patches but I ended up with so many dents in it that I had to re-do it, the second time I managed with 2 coats. I would just recommend that you wait between coats and dont go back over any part of your nail once it's painted!

My New House!

If you follow me on Twitter then you will know that I have just bought my first house and have managed to move everything into it, unpacking is a whole other story! I should be unpacking or out buying clothes hangers right now, but i'm blogging!

Things I have learnt from moving:
  • I hate moving!
  • It's stressful
  • I have so much stuff
  • I own far too many beauty products
  • I have far too much make up
  • My nail polish collection is out of control!
  • I am very grateful for anyone who is willing to move my stuff for me
  • I have seen my bf's parents far too much lately!
  • I cannot stand dirt on my new cream carpet
  • I will get in a sulk if I am left alone for several hours and expected to pack everything up
  • You can never have enough boxes
  • I have filled all of one of the spare rooms with my stuff
  • After moving apparently the most important things to me are removing my nail polish and putting on perfume
  • Having our first dinner at our own dining table is very exciting!
  • At 11 o'clock I will happily sleep on a mattress on the floor rather than wait for my bf to put our bed together.

There will be more photos once everything is unpacked and we are settled in properly.

{Nails} Rimmel - In Style Coral

I own about 3 coral polishes, for some reason it's just not a colour that has appealed to me, but I saw this on someone's blog and just had to get it. But I haven't really worn it until recently, but now it just seems like a perfect spring polish!

I find Rimmel polishes also apply well, especially since they replaced all the brushes with wide brushes, they're the perfect size for my nails! They've also released some new colours which I am desperate to get my hands on but am trying to resist!

{Nails} Topshop - Parma Violet

There have been quite a few Topshop polishes on my blog lately, they really are brilliant. This was one of the first I owned, and I remember wearing it when I went to an Aussie event and when I met Amy.

As with most polishes this was 2 coats, so far I havent found a Topshop polish I don't like, I'm even looking forward to trying the new glitter polishes they are bringing out, and I dont even really like glitter polishes (yes I realise this is abnormal for a nail blogger!) Which Topshop polishes do you recommend? I think this one will be my next purchase from them!

{Nails} Nubar - Amazon Coral

This is one of my favourite polishes lately, it's been in my collection a long time but I never appreciated it. It reminds me a lot of Barry M Pink Flamingo which is my most used polish, but sadly that has dried up and gone all gloopy so I can't compare them.

This was 2 coats and I found it lasted really well, I have always been impressed with Nubar polishes! It has an almost jelly finish and is really shiny without a top coat. I picked this up on eBay, but I know that Nubar polishes can be bought from feelunique. As you can see on the bottle, Nubar is free from all the horrible chemicals found in some polishes.
