Butter London

So Butter London is a brand I have heard of but hadn't tried before. That was until I saw this post by Charlotte and knew I had to have this colour. That colour is of course All Hail McQueen in honour of Alexander McQueen, but I obviously couldn't order just one!

We have All Hail McQueen and Victoriana. I ordered these from lookfantastic.com, they were £10 when I bought them but they're now £8. I thoroughly recommend lookfantastic, my stuff usually arrives on my doorstep the next day.

First All Hail McQueen,

This applies so smoothly! It took 3 coats but they all applied well and dried quickly. This has a slight shimmer and if you get it in the light you can see that its vaguely holographic, but you need a lot of sun for this.

Then there's Victoriana,

A lovely turquoise with silver shimmer. This one was a little thicker and only took 2 coats, it still dried quickly but takes a bit of care to get it smooth.

This one doesn't have that hint of holographic in it, it has a silver sparkle.

After trying these two i'm definitely eager to try more Butter London polishes, yes they're expensive at £10 each but worth it I feel!

Review: Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Hydrating Care

That's a long title! I was sent this moisturiser over a month ago for me to test out. At the time my skin was terrible, even with the heaviest make up I was still ashamed of it.

So I have had this product for a month so how do I feel about it? I love it! I have used it day and night everyday for the month, this has become an essential for me! It leaves my skin feeling moisturised but not greasy at all, and is a perfect base for under make up. Since I’ve been using this my skin has improved greatly, still not perfect but 10 times better than the mess it was.
 






The science bit:
This is Vichy’s first daily skincare product that combines the unique association of three peeling acids (salicylic acid + glycolic acid + LHA) to target imperfections in a really hydrating formula with active ingredients that help mattify the skin, mopping up excess sebum and shine… so it’s doing three jobs in one!
Hydra-peel technology – a unique association of acids in a highly hydrating care:
• LHA, a L’Oréal patented acid helps micro-exfoliate the surface of the skin for a smoother surface and a uniform complexion.
• Salicylic acid targets the pores helping to break down blackheads and whiteheads by gently micro-exfoliating the top layer of skin and clearing blocked pores. Salicylic acid also has antiseptic properties to cleanse the skin to help stop recurrence of blackheads.
• Glycolic acid, the most common of the AHA’s is an all-natural derivative of sugar cane. Glycolic acid naturally exfoliates the skin and helps reduce the bacteria causing imperfections.
These three acids work in conjunction to target blemishes, black heads and open pores.

Would I recommend this? If you have oily skin then definitely, it really helped to mattify my skin and keep me oil free for most of the day.

Its £11.50 in Boots and at the moment if you buy the moisturiser you get a free face wash. I’ve already stocked up! Plus Boots points obviously!

Back to School

So last week was my first week at school as a teacher, I have just qualified as a maths teacher. My main concern obviously was what I was going to wear on my nails! I thought long and hard about it and decided after reading this blog post that nude polish was the way to go, I decided I'd look smart and professional but would still have nail polish on.

So I swatched all of my nude nail polishes to decide which I would wear. If you wanna know what they all are I can put up the list

And then I received a parcel from eBay and decided that I'm gonna wear colours throughout the year so why not start that way. So I ended up with this on my nails!

Here we have OPI Ski Teal We Drop, it's beautiful and I love it very much!

It also happens to match my new bag and purse, i'm loving teal right now. They are both from Accessorize.
