Some of you may know what I'm on about, what hair removal device is like a torture device?
Oh yes! An epilator!
This is the one I have, not the latest model that has been seen on all the blogs. I picked this up for £9.99 in Superdrug a few months ago. It sat unused for ages, until last night!
Last night me and my housemate were talking about epilating and how it couldn't possibly be that painful! We decided I would test it out, how did I become the guinea pig?!
This is the device, looks harmless so far?
Well this is what goes against your skin, 'it looks as if its going to eat you' said my housemate!
Anyway off I ran upstairs to rip out the hair on my legs. I lasted about 10 seconds! There was a lot of swearing and wondering why I was doing it! I ran downstairs to inform housemate! She wasn't impressed, she had hoped it would be pain free, she was wrong. But I thought I'd give it another go, I lasted another 5 seconds! We decided a bath would help. Eventually after the bath I managed to do the bottom half of both my legs! How? I'm not too sure.
However, things I have learnt so far:
- A bath doesn't ease the pain, but it does reduce the red bumps you will get.
- You do kinda get used to it! Not sure if it hurts less or what, but after the first bit of your leg then its a bit easier and you question it less! But perhpas just because there's less hair?
- I found it easier to do it quickly but go over the same area lots, it was easier having lots of little bits of pain instead of one big pain.
- Hold the skin tight.
Today though I have very smooth legs! Perhaps it is worth it in the long run!
