When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely staff of Illamasqua and were offered cocktails. Alexis made me and her have champagne with guiness, once you'd drunk a bit it was actually very nice and i went on to have a few of them! We also had an orange cocktail which i think had rum in it and was very strong. But they were lovely and the bar staff were lovely, also offering us beautifully made food. The staff were all so lovely and genuine and they all mingled and had chats with us.
They also had the new collection out for us to play with plus plenty of their regular products.
Once we were all ready we were given an introduction the the brand and then given a talk by Alex Box. The talk was about how Illamasqua was all about embracing your alter ego and how we shouldnt follow rules when it comes to make up. This really inspired me! I am going to be more creative from now on, try using new colours, try using products in different ways and just doing whatever I want!
I arrived at the event after a day at uni and had all my books with me and hadnt touched my make up all day so there wasnt much left by 6.30 seeing as i put it on at 7am! So obviously Alex Box picked me to do a makeover on! I was so privileged, but felt so bad that my make up was a mess, I also hadnt plucked my eyebrows because i didnt think it would matter, wrong!
Alex Box was lovely, so down to earth and so kind! She didnt mind us asking questions as she did my makeover, and she is so talented! I'm not sure how long she was working on me for but she was just using her creativity and at the end she apologised that it was just a quick effort. If thats what she does quickly then wow wow wow!
I know there have been several comments about the look that was created on me. I loved it! And yes I left wearing it, but i didnt have to! Alex said before hand that she would re-do my make up afterwards and was more than happy to take it all off for me and give me a subtle look, but i felt what she had done with me was so beautiful that i couldnt just wipe it off! Yes she didnt create a subtle everyday look, but she is the creativity behind Illamasqua and i really enjoyed seeing the creativity flow out of her.
At the end of the evening we were given a goody bag :) inside it had 2 products from the new collection, a promotional poster from Dystopia, and an envelope containing money towards travel costs. It was so generous of the Illamasqua team. Inside my goody bag I received the new lipstick 'Avenge' and the silver lipgloss 'Galactic' that everyone has been showing. I also then went and ask Alex if it were be possible for me to have the eyeshadow in 'Matter' which had been such a big part of my look, she said of course and ended up giving me that eyeshadow, the black eyeshadow in 'Machine' and the pigment in 'Static' which is so beautiful! I just cannot believe her generosity!
I had a wonderful evening and it was lovely seeing all the lovely blogger girls again, and I just want to say thank you to the Illamsqua team for throwing such a good event and being so generous to all of us!
xoxo
